About 21st Century e-Teacher

The LearniT-TeachiT 21st Century e-Teacher initiative is divided into three self-contained courses with each containing a number of modules.  These modules address topics which will ultimately enable teachers to be successful with the integration of 21st century technologies into their learning environments.

LearniT-TeachiT_logo LearniT-TeachiT is proud to have worked with hundreds of nationally recognized educational experts, instructional developers, master teachers, advisory board members and external evaluators to create and maintain the 21st Century e-Teacher initiative.

We would like to recognize several of those talented team members who continue to contribute to the success of the initiative.

Sharon is an Educator-in-Residence working for the National Institute of Aerospace (NIA) and Virginia Beach City Public Schools. She has taught science for more than 25 years and her work with children earned her recognition as a Secondary Science Presidential Award Winner for Virginia. Sharon also writes activities and trains teachers for the AIMS Education Foundation and has been a writer and reviewer for Harcourt Science. The National Institute of Aerospace, a non-profit research and education institute that serves as a strategic partner with NASA Langley Research Center.

 


Michael Connet is Co-Founder, Director of Education & Outreach at LearniT-TeachiT whose ideas, contributions, and guidance are the core of this project from inception to implementation.  He has twenty years executive management of non-profit and corporate community relations organizations, programs and projects. He contributes deep understanding of how technology can be deployed and managed to exceed company or organizations' 21st century goals. Areas of expertise shaping 21st Century e-Teacher include technology innovation; strategic planning; instructional design; and distance

 


John Grandmont is a lifelong educator and teacher including many years with the Thames Valley District (Canada) school board, pioneered as 21st Century e-Teacher's lead architect, setting the instructional direction and engaging tone of its modules.  His ideas resonate throughout the effort. sequences.  John also contributes outreach expertise on cybersafety and has written internationally recognized learning modules in this area of online safety.


Educator and instructional developer Mary Schaefer (MSEd, Purdue University), LearniT-TeachiT, joined the 21st Century e-Teacher effort as Courses 3 and 4 were being developed.  She draws upon over 14 years' developing practical web-based training for adult learners and leading educational specialists in technology integration.  She has taught technology integration in the learning process to graduate students in the Purdue University School of Education and worked collaboratively with educators to develop technology infused lessons and tutorials.  She shares LearniT-TeachiT's enthusiasm for project-based learning processes.
